In Buttenwiesen-Lauterbach in the district of Dillingen an der Donau, Bavaria, is Lauterbach Castle, now serving as a rectory. Originally built as a seat for the Teutonic Order.

History+

The history of Lauterbach Castle begins in 1647 when the Teutonic Order acquired dominion over the locality. Between 1727 and 1728, the castle was erected under the direction of Commander Franz Anton von der Hees. The designs are attributed to the Allgäu master builder Franz Keller, who was also responsible for other buildings of the Order.
