Leiben Castle, a historic complex with striking architecture, rises in Lower Austria. Originally built by knights, it now shapes the townscape with its characteristic pentagonal arcaded courtyard and artistic coffered ceilings, serving as a venue.

History+

The origins of Leiben Castle date back to 1113, when it was built by the Knights of Leiben, who resided there until 1332. The castle underwent a transformation to its current form from 1617 under Hans Christian Geyer von Osterburg. In 1796, the complex became property of the imperial-royal family. After the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, the castle was handed over to the Invalidenfonds for administration in 1919 and was managed by the Austrian Federal Forests from 1945. The market town of Leiben acquired the castle in 1989 and renovated it, after which it has also housed an agricultural technology museum since 1991.
