History+
The construction of the palace took place between 1736 and 1740 under the aegis of Salzburg Archbishop Leopold Anton Eleutherius Freiherr von Firmian, who conceived it as a private summer residence. The plans for this were drawn up by the Benedictine monk Bernard Stuart. After the death of the builder in 1744, the palace passed into the possession of his nephew Laktanz von Firmian. In the 1760s, the originally three-story building underwent a classical renovation, during which the mansard roof and central tower were removed and replaced by an attic story.
