Lichtenfels Castle
The castle was built in 1555 for Kaspar von Sternberg. From 1612 it served as a summer residence for the Bishops of Bamberg. From 1654 it was used as a granary, as a wine merchant's warehouse, as a drying room for herbs and as a material warehouse for a basketware company. In 1970, the city of Lichtenfels acquired the castle and renovated it from 1972 to 1991.
