Lichtengraben Castle, a complex in Carinthia, was built in the first half of the 16th century. It served as a successor to the abandoned Painhof Castle.

History+

The construction of Lichtengraben Castle took place in the first half of the 16th century, replacing the previously abandoned Painhof Castle. Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, the castle underwent extensive expansions. In 1564, Peter and Ehrenreich von Pain are mentioned. From 1711 to 1839, the estate was owned by the Teuffenbach family, after which it experienced frequent changes of ownership.
