In the west of the village of Liemberg in the municipality of Liebenfels in Carinthia, Austria, stands Liemberg Castle. It was built as a replacement for the nearby Liemberg Castle and features early Renaissance architecture.

History+

The construction of Liemberg Castle took place before 1547 by the ministerial family of the Gradeneggers. It served as a new residence after the original Liemberg Castle had been abandoned. The structure is a four-story noble residence covered with a shingle roof. Characteristic features include tower-like projections on the six-axis east and west sides, as well as in the middle of the seven-axis south side, which extend up to the roof. The south tower is adorned with coupled Renaissance windows and a small wooden bell turret. The facades display window pediments and stone frames typical of the early Renaissance.
