For about 250 years, "Le Fornel" was considered a typical seat of the nobility and represented the power of an influential family: the Lords of Gléresse.
This residence was built in 1550 by Rudolph de Gléresse on land belonging to the Prince-Bishops of Basel.
Since 1970, the building has been owned by the "Museum of the Vine of Lake Biel" Foundation.
