In the municipality of Laakirchen-Lindach, Upper Austria, stands Lindach Castle, a historic estate that now serves as a center for cultural events.

History+

The first documented mention of Lindach dates back to 1080, when it belonged to the dominion of Ort in the Traunkreis region. Around 1130, the noble seat of Dorff and Lindach is mentioned. In 1470, Leopold Hayden von und zu Dorff was granted Lindach as a knightly fief. The castle chapel was transformed into a baroque Church of Saint Margaret in 1680 by Christoph Adam Hayden von Dorff zu Lindach, with the main and side altars and the pulpit completed in 1682.
