Lindach Castle

The oldest parts of Lindach Castle date back to the Staufer period, with the square tower considered a structure from the era of Duke Frederick II of Swabia. Originally, the complex was a castle, protected to the north and west by a natural slope and to the south and east by a moat. In 1580, the gate was breached, and three years later, a round tower was erected. The Renaissance structure on the Staufer ashlar tower and the long building to the north also date from the same period. A stair tower was added in 1624.
