Lipsa Castle

The first documented mention of Lipsa Castle dates back to 1680. The castle received its shape between 1718 and 1720 under Wolf Heinrich von Baudissin, who also held Masonic conventions there. As early as 1726, it came into the possession of Baroness Theodora Eugenia von Löwendahl, who lived there until her death in 1768. After the Counts of Redern, Count Ernst von Gersdorff acquired the property in 1831, whose family had already owned the Lipsa estate before 1671. In 1864, Ernst Christian August von Gersdorff took over the estate, but sold Lipsa estate in 1890/1891 to Lieutenant Carl August Tölke. Further changes of ownership followed, including Dr. Walter Neumann in 1904 and the Prussian government councillor Paul von Schumann in 1913.
