Schloss Lössnitz in Radebeul-Oberlößnitz originally served as the main house of the Bilz Sanatorium. The building, designed in the Swiss style, is now a residential building.

History+

The naturopath Friedrich Eduard Bilz moved to Oberlößnitz in 1890. He acquired a property and opened a small sanatorium in 1892. As this quickly reached its capacity limits, Bilz had Kurhaus II built by 1895, which he named “Schloss Lössnitz”. The building application for this new sanatorium, which was later to accommodate up to 70 patients, was submitted in 1893 and approved in 1894. The four-story building in Swiss style was designed by the Dresden architects Oscar Wend & Paul Eger, while the Ziller brothers handled the execution planning.
