In Bad Berleburg, Ludwigsburg Castle is a castle ensemble with two staggered half-timbered buildings. This complex once served as a residence for a comital collateral line and is characterized by its carved decorations and the architectural signature of its builders.

History+

The construction of Ludwigsburg took place in two phases. The eastern part of the building was erected between 1707 and 1709 under the direction of Johann Hermann Riedesel. Later, in 1724, the western wing was added on behalf of Count Casimir von Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg.
