In Saxony-Anhalt, in the Burgenland district, is Lützen Castle. Originally built by the Merseburg bishops, it now houses a museum dedicated to regional history, commemorating two significant battles.

History+

The origins of Lützen Castle date back to the late 13th century when it was erected by the Merseburg bishops as a building. Since 1928, the edifice has served as the City and Regional History Museum. Among other things, it is dedicated to the Battle of Lützen in 1632, where the Swedish King Gustav II Adolf fell, and the Battle of Großgörschen in 1813.
