History+

Originally, an estate stood on the site of the present castle. In the first half of the 17th century, Lustbühel Castle was built there and elevated to a noble residence. The building underwent several alterations, particularly in the first half of the 18th century, in the 19th century, and most recently in 1907. These changes shaped its current appearance, which is characterized by late historicist-Neo-Gothic stylistic forms.
