Mamling Castle

The first documented mention of a castle in Mamling dates back to 1297, when Otto von Mamling was named as owner. The Mamling family held the property until 1519, before Friedrich der Mamlinger sold it to Wolfgang Elrechinger zu Hueb. Around 1610, the estate passed to Wolf Rudolf Golt von Lampoting, who sold it to Count Helfrich von Meggau in 1619. In the mid-17th century, the Barons von Lerchenfeld took over the castle. Johann Kaspar Freiherr von Lerchenfeld had the old castle demolished and a moated castle with a chapel built in its place. After her marriage in 1710, Maria Franziska von Lerchenfeld received the castle as a dowry. In 1748, the property fell to the Counts von Törring-Jettenbach. In 1831, Heinrich von Bohn acquired the castle.
