History+

The exact period of the castle's origin in the 16th century and its initial builder remain unknown. In 1595, Hans Christoph von Metnitz acquired the property from the heirs of Hieronymus von Meiselberg, after which expansions were carried out in the 17th century. The castle changed hands multiple times before passing to Hans Adam Stampfer von Walchenberg in 1694. His descendants had the building extensively redesigned in the Baroque style in the 18th century.
