History+

A manor house was first mentioned in a document around 1300 as being in the possession of the Prince-Bishopric of Augsburg. In 1315, Chunrad der Vegler and his brother Eberlein are mentioned as owners. Around 1400, the manor was owned by Lienhard Rutzenlacher. In 1413, it was destroyed by Bavarian troops during the siege of Hall in Tyrol. This was followed by many changes of ownership. In 1689, the manor was destroyed by an earthquake and rebuilt around 1700. Further owners included Duke Sigmund the Rich in Coin and the Zott von Perneg family. From 1815 until today, the castle has been owned by the von Riccabona family.
