Meyenburg Castle

From the 14th century until 1914, Meyenburg Castle was owned by the von Rohr family. Although commonly referred to as a castle, it is a palace-like manor house. Its construction incorporates parts of the medieval town fortifications from the 15th century, with additional elements dating back to the 16th century. Between 1865 and 1866, the building was redesigned by the Berlin master builder Friedrich Adler in the North German Renaissance style, evident in the facade design of the gables. After further alterations in 1914, a renovation between 1996 and 2002 restored its 1866 appearance. The associated castle park, originally laid out in 1868 by court gardener Fink, was restored in 1997 and is bordered to the east by the Stepenitz river.
