Michelfeld Castle
Michelfeld Castle is located in the Michelfeld district of the municipality of Angelbachtal in the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis (Baden-Württemberg). The former moated castle is a protected monument.
The castle was built in 1753 by the Lords of Gemmingen-Hornberg and served as the ancestral seat of the manor. A bridge leads over the now dry moat to the two-story Baroque building, which has six axes. Above the portal is a cartouche with the family coat of arms of the Gemmingen family.
Inside, an open staircase illuminated by a glass roof leads to the upper floor. The roof structure was later built in the Neoclassical style; it is symmetrical to the central axis of the house.
