Mosbach Castle

The Mosbach Castle+
History+
The beginnings of Mosbach Castle date back to the 12th century, to the Staufer era. The castle already existed before Otto I elevated Mosbach to a residence. It repeatedly served the Heidelberg Electors as a refuge from epidemics, as even then Mosbach, in contrast to Heidelberg, was off the main travel routes. Today, unfortunately, only a small part of the castle remains.
