Mühlhausen Castle
Mühlhausen Castle was built in 1566 by Peter Busch for the Lords of Thumb as a moated castle. It is located in the Mühlhausen district of Mühlacker.
The castle is a three-story plastered building with polygonal corner towers, with the north tower being round. The original access to the castle was in the stair tower. The painting from the construction period is still preserved there.
In 1785, Duke Karl Eugen of Württemberg bought Mühlhausen, including the castle.
In 1961, the Christliches Jugenddorfwerk Deutschlands (Christian Youth Village Work of Germany) bought Mühlhausen Castle. The Jugenddorfwerk sold it to a private owner in 1996.
In 2008, the Pforzheim jewelry manufacturer Roland Rauschmayer bought the building. Extensive renovation work has been underway ever since.
