Mühlhausen Castle
Mühlhausen Castle, also known as Palm'sches Schloss, is a neoclassical building in Stuttgart-Mühlhausen. It was built on the foundations of a previous structure and today serves as the district town hall.
History+
The history of Mühlhausen Castle begins with the Palm brothers, who were elevated to imperial knights in 1711 as bankers in Vienna. They acquired the Mühlhausen manor and became part of the Swabian Imperial Knighthood. The current castle was built in 1813 in the neoclassical style for Jonathan Freiherr von Palm on the remains of the old castle. The building underwent several changes, including extensions around 1895. Since 1971, the castle has been a listed building. In 1933, it became the property of the city of Stuttgart.
