The Castle can be visited

Münchingen Castle is a four-winged complex in Korntal-Münchingen. Its history dates back to the Middle Ages, having transformed from a castle to a palace, whose baroque elements now shine again in their former splendor.

The origins of Münchingen Castle lie in a fortress first documented in 1304. In 1588, the oldest part of the current complex, the so-called Old Castle, was built on this site. It is believed that existing castle elements such as a keep or a residential tower were integrated. The complex was expanded in 1619 with the construction of a granary and a stable building, which now enclose the courtyard. In 1733, the castle changed hands when it was sold by the Münchingen family to the Barons von Hartling.
