Münichau Castle

Münichau Castle is located four kilometers from Kitzbühel in Reith bei Kitzbühel.
Earlier than the castle itself, the documents mention the Münichauer family, who built the castle as a fortified family seat in the 15th century. The castle chapel was consecrated in 1469.
In 1538, the estate came into the possession of the Lang von Wellenburg family, and in 1580, the Lords of Lamberg.
The five-story building, damaged by a fire in 1914, was restored by 1921 – one story lower.
Today, Münichau Castle is a hotel.
