Münsingen Castle

Münsingen Castle is a 16th-century castle in the municipality of Münsingen in the canton of Bern, Switzerland.
The site of the current castle was formerly occupied by the 13th-century Sennenburg. In 1550, Hans Franz Nägeli and his wife Rosina Wyttenbach had the current castle built, bearing the year 1550, and the old castle was demolished down to the height of the first floor. To this day, the semicircular shape of the floor plan and the garden walls reveal the course of the ring wall.
The castle was rebuilt several times, and in the mid-18th century, the corner stove by Peter Gnehm was installed in the "von Steiger Room". In 1826, Peter Vollmar Vissering bought the castle from Franz Ludwig Sigmund Steiger and Elisabetha Steiger.
