Naundorf Castle

Naundorf was first mentioned as "Nuwindorff" as early as 1404. The existing manor house yielded only a small profit and had to be sold several times due to debts. Owners of the manor house in the 16th to 18th centuries included the Lords of Bernsteins, von Schönberg, and von Bünau, whose coats of arms are located on the castle tower. These landlords were then owners of large parts of the Ore Mountains. In the 19th century, the castle was rebuilt. The owners of the castle created a park and changed its use over time. In 1846, the Oeconomie Council "Otto" acquired the castle and the park from the owner von "Carlowitz". In 1867, he erected the building "Otto's Eck". In 1877, he completely redesigned the park. In 1898, the manufacturer Bierling acquired the property. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. Since 2001, the property has been painstakingly restored by the local heritage association.
