Nausitz Castle

The castle was built at the end of the 17th century by Lord von Creutz. Georg Rudolph von Römer, who took over the estate management in 1861, renovated the building and had the park laid out. In 1920, Baron Leopold von Münchhausen took over the estate from his mother Baroness Erika von Münchhausen, née Römer. After the family was dispossessed in 1945, the building first housed an old people's home and later a children's home.

The castle is a prime example of Baroque architecture, characterized by its symmetrical design and ornate decorations. The main building features a grand entrance hall, leading to several reception rooms and private chambers. The exterior is adorned with intricate stone carvings and a distinctive mansard roof.

The park, laid out in the 19th century, is a significant part of the estate. It features a variety of mature trees, winding paths, and a picturesque pond. The park was designed in the English landscape style, offering visitors a serene and natural environment.

After serving as a care home for several decades, the castle is now undergoing extensive renovations. The aim is to restore its historical grandeur and open it to the public as a cultural and event center. Future plans include exhibitions, concerts, and guided tours, allowing visitors to experience the rich history of Schloss Creutz.
