Neersdonk Castle (Hecke)
The noble estate of Neersdonk was first mentioned in 1599 under Godhard von der Portzen. As the wall anchors show, the present castle was built in 1667 and has been in excellent condition since its restoration in 1963. The actual castle complex is still surrounded by moats today. They once enclosed an area of one acre. Within these moats were the manor house, outbuildings, and gardens.
