In Neetzow in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district stands a neo-Gothic manor house. Completed in 1851, the building was designed by Friedrich Hitzig and is characterized by its asymmetry and the use of yellow clinker bricks, which create a contrast to the regional brick architecture.

History+

The von Kruse family acquired Neetzow around 1803 or 1805. Under Wilhelm von Kruse, the castle was built between 1848 and 1851 according to plans by the Berlin architect Friedrich Hitzig. The landscape park was designed by Peter Joseph Lenné. The construction was supervised by the builder's wife. After the expropriation of the last owner, Wolf-Eginhard von Kruse, in 1945, the building was plundered.
