Neu-Liechtenstein Castle, an edifice in Styria, stands near Judenburg at an elevation of approximately 695 meters above sea level. Its architecture and history are linked to the older Liechtenstein Castle.

History+

The estate's origins date back to 1140, when Liechtenstein Castle was first documented. This older complex, once owned by Ulrich von Liechtenstein, fell into disrepair during the 16th century. Around 1650, Seckau Abbey commissioned the construction of the current Neu-Liechtenstein Castle below the ruined fortress. A feudal letter from 1705 confirmed the new construction and the state of the old stronghold.
