Neudegg Castle

The origins of Neudegg Castle date back to 1460, when Niklas Venediger had a new small castle built here, the core of which is still preserved today. In the 16th century, it was converted into a manor house with four corner turrets. These received their characteristic onion domes in the 17th century. A freestanding chapel was built around 1660. It houses an altar from the same period, bearing the coats of arms of the founders Christoph Freisauff and his wife Katharina, as well as an altarpiece of Saint Christopher.
