Neuhof Castle

The origins of Schloss Neuhof date back to 1599. At that time, the estate was founded by Sophie Klenke, the widow of the former owner of Schlüsselburg Castle. This occurred due to inheritance disputes, by merging four noble estates of the Schlüsselburg outer bailey, which were located on the opposite side of the Weser. In 1698, Johann Georg Voigt, a Hanoverian chief bailiff, acquired the property. At the beginning of the 18th century, he had all the Baroque estate buildings newly constructed. The design of the main building and the garden complex was oriented along a central axis extending from the entrance. The manor house was completed in 1748.
