In Aigen am Inn is Neuriedenburg Castle. Originally conceived as a hunting lodge, it now serves as a kindergarten.
History+
The origins of Neuriedenburg Castle date back to 1704/05, when it was built under Cardinal Johann Philipp von Lamberg. Originally designed as a two-story hunting lodge, it underwent a transformation in 1770. A fire in 1810 destroyed the second floor, which was subsequently not rebuilt. From 1860, the English Ladies used the building as a convent with an attached girls' school. In 1893, the institution was converted into a children's day-care center.
