History of the Building+

The history of the building is long and eventful. The first documented mention of a manor house on this site dates back to the 14th century. Over the centuries, the building has undergone numerous changes and additions, reflecting the respective architectural styles and the needs of its owners.

  • 1570/1580 Construction of the present castle by the von Warnsdorf family
  • 1700 in the possession of Rosina Patientia von Gersdorff, thereafter in the possession of the von Schönberg family
  • 1782 Purchased by Dr. Anton
  • Further owners: Schneider family and von Haugwitz family
  • 1945 Expropriation and use for residential purposes
  • Later owned by the Treuhand (privatization agency)
  • Today in private ownership but vacant
Architectural Features+

The building presents itself as an impressive example of Renaissance architecture, although later modifications have also left their mark. Particularly noteworthy are the ornate gables, the richly decorated portal, and the well-preserved vaulted cellars. Inside, historical stucco ceilings and wall paintings can still be found in some rooms, testifying to the building's former splendor.

Currently, the building is vacant and in need of extensive renovation. Despite its dilapidated condition, its historical significance and architectural beauty are undeniable.
