History of the Castle+
The castle was built in 1571 by Georg Christoph von Bibra. It is a stately building with three two-story wings enclosing the inner courtyard to the south, east, and west. The north side towards the church is closed off by a courtyard wall. The main front, the west wing facing the old village, is flanked by a round tower on each side. In 1696, ownership transferred to the Counts of Schönborn.
