In the municipality of Weitersfeld-Oberhöflein stands Oberhöflein Castle, once a moated castle. It is a four-winged structure with towers in the Horn district of Lower Austria.

History+

The first documented mention of Oberhöflein Castle dates back to the 13th century. In 1578, the property was owned by Andreas Kielman von Kielmannsegg. In 1658, Ernst Ferdinand Freiherr von Breuner acquired the castle. Alterations characterized the 16th century, followed by further modifications in 1724 under Matthias Freiherr von Suttner. Since then, the castle has remained in the possession of the Suttner family. In 1945, the building, particularly the ballroom, suffered damage from a fire.
