Oberotterbach castle

The Schlössl was built in 1778 by a chief official from Strasbourg as an official residence, as the castle in Minfeld was no longer comfortable enough for him as a place of residence. Around the same time, the town hall in Kandel (1773-75) was also built by the same master builder, the bridge and road construction inspector Christiny from Zweibrücken. Both houses survived both world wars well and still bear witness to the Guttenberg rule today.

The Schlössl is a two-story plastered building with a mansard roof. The facade is structured by corner pilasters and a central risalit. The windows are framed by sandstone Gewände. The main entrance is emphasized by a Freitreppe and a wrought-iron balcony.

Today, the Schlössl is privately owned and is used as a residential building. It is not open to the public.

The Schlössl is located in the center of Minfeld, a small community in the Palatinate. In the immediate vicinity are the St. Laurentius Church and the historic town hall.

The Schlössl is an important example of late Baroque architecture in the Palatinate. It is a listed building and is considered a cultural monument.
