In the town of Oberpullendorf stands Oberpullendorf Castle, a structure whose origins are presumed to lie in the Middle Ages.

History+

The exact construction date of the castle is not clearly documented, but existing walls suggest a medieval origin. In the 17th century, the building underwent a redesign and was given a hook-shaped floor plan. In the 18th century, it temporarily served as an inn and became known as Rohonczy Castle. Later, it came into the possession of the Niczky family from Nebersdorf, who transformed it into a castle-like estate. A restoration in the Historicist style took place in 1880.
