In Obersontheim, the main town of the municipality of Obersontheim, stands Obersontheim Castle, a former residence of the Schenken von Limpurg. Located in the Schwäbisch Hall district of Baden-Württemberg, it is approximately ten meters above the old village center and the Bühler valley, through which the river flows not far from the castle.

History+

The castle's origins date back to the 16th century. After Schenk Erasmus sold the eponymous Limpurg Castle to the imperial city of Schwäbisch Hall in 1541, he had a new residence built in Obersontheim.
