The local history of Oberstadion is closely linked to the Lords of Stadion - since 1711 Counts of Stadion. The old noble family originally came from Prättigau (Switzerland). As early as 1080, a knight from Stadion participated in a tournament in Augsburg. In 1270, a Walter von Stadion is mentioned in a document in Oberstadion.
