In Oberurff, a district of Bad Zwesten, stands Schloss Oberurff, also known as Hanauisches Schloss. The Neo-Baroque structure was built in the late 19th century and now serves as an educational institution, surrounded by an expansive landscape park.

History+

The estate's origins date back, having once been owned by the Lords of Breidenbach, known as Löwenstein. Later, Carl Reinhard Goddaeus acquired the estate, which he bequeathed to his sister Maria Amalia, wife of the Hessian Privy Councillor Christian Heinrich von Motz. Through inheritance, it passed to the von Motz family, who were elevated to imperial nobility in 1780. After the extinction of the von Motz family in Oberurff, the estate came to the von Wintzingerode family as a dowry.
