History+
The main building was constructed in 1668 under the direction of Chief Customs Officer Wilhelm Böös Drakenhielm, with designs attributed to architect Jean de la Vallée. Over the centuries, the castle changed hands multiple times and was owned by notable noble families such as Bååt, Sifverstjerna, Drakenhielm, Stackelberg, and Groen. Around 1900, the estate underwent modernization under Chancellor Hugo Tigerschiöld. In 1944, the castle was sold by its last private owner to the Swedish state. Two years later, in 1946, the Swedish Hunters' Association moved into the castle. In 1993, the association acquired the entire complex. Following extensive renovations in 2003, the new offices, conference, and training rooms were inaugurated.
