The domus Gercinole (House Gerkendahl) was first mentioned in 1243 in a comparison between the Counts of Mark and Limburg as a fiefdom of Mark. The hoff toe Ole (House Ohle) was first mentioned in a document in 1393, when a Herman Wanthof received the noble seat. After an extensive renovation in 1967, Haus Ohle is now considered excellently restored.
