Ottendorf Castle

The earliest mention of Ottendorf dates back to 1304, when Margrave Friedrich granted the burgrave Otto von Dohna the regional jurisdiction, but retained jurisdiction over Ottendorf himself. In 1400, Barbara von Sullwitz received the outwork and the seat. Just twelve years later, in 1412, Ottendorf was enfeoffed to members of the Karas and von Torgaw families. From 1445, the village was owned by the von Bernstein family, who had to sell it to Dedo Rauchhaubt in 1582 due to high debts. He sold the estate as early as 1583 to Thamme von Sebottendorff zu Rottwerndorff. In 1586, Ottendorf passed to Hans von Lindenau, who sold it in 1598 to Rudolf von Bünau zu Weesenstein.
