- 1083 Ezzo von Ottenhofen first mentioned as owner of the Hofmark, in possession of the Lords of Ottenhofen until 1544
- 1545 passed into the possession of Friedrich Esswurm
- 1608 passed into the possession of Duke Wilhelm of Bavaria
- 1611 passed into the possession of the Schrenk zu Egmating family (later Barons Schrenk zu Egmating)

- 1760 construction of a tea pavilion
- from 1821 to Baron Franz Josef de la Perous, construction of a fountain with a basin in which his son and heir drowned shortly thereafter, then 10 more owners mentioned
- from 1892 in possession of Matthias Brenner, whose son Erwin sold the property to the Bayerische Landessiedlung, end of the Hofmark
- from 1954 in possession of the municipality of Ottenhofen, then demolition of almost the entire castle except for the south wing of the formerly four-winged complex and release for development by single-family houses, conversion of the castle into apartments
- inhabited until 2006, when parts of the cellar vault collapsed
