Padberg Castle

To be privately owned

Padberg Castle is a listed manor house located in Padberg (city of Marsberg).

Padberg Castle emerged from a fortified seat of the Lower House line of the Lords of Padberg. The castle fell to the von Stockhausen family in 1677. Alhard von Stockhausen began a new construction in 1800. However, this was never completed. A residential building was built around 1850. The shell of the castle begun by Alhard von Stockhausen was demolished in 1874. A coach house dates from the same year. The current building essentially dates from 1890/91. It is a rather simple two-story building with a square corner tower. Today it belongs to Countess Droste zu Vischering.
