Pellendorf Castle

On a hill in the north of the village of Pellendorf is the mighty three-winged complex around a rectangular courtyard. In 1319, the castle was first mentioned as being owned by Simon von Pellendorf. Since 1753, the castle has been owned by the Khevenhüller-Metsch family. The older complex was expanded in the 17th century; in the 18th century, the south and west wings were redesigned; in 1915, the southeastern corner risalit was added. The castle has a simple, early Baroque facade from the 17th century.
