Perlachsoed Castle
Perlachsoed Castle or Perlachoed Castle in Munich, also known as Neusönner Castle or Palace after its builder, is located in the south of the Munich district of Perlach in the Ramersdorf-Perlach borough. It is registered as a historical monument in the Bavarian List of Monuments.
On March 12, 1696, the privy secretary and later governor Johann Sebald Neusönner acquired the original property including adjacent agricultural land. The construction of the castle began in 1697, after Elector Max Emmanuel of Bavaria issued the electoral privilege on January 17, 1697, for it to be a free noble seat. Perlachsoed Castle is also called Neusönner Castle (or Schlösschen/Schlössl) in reference to its builder. The castle is privately owned and cannot be visited.
Buildings+
Perlachsoed originally extended over two floors. Elaborate wall paintings and stucco decorations of the former bel étage are still preserved on the first floor. In 1727, Perlachsoed was expanded. The castle courtyard was surrounded by stables and outbuildings, of which only a servant's house still exists today. The castle was extensively renovated in 2008/2009. The Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation lists Perlachsoed Castle as a historical monument.
