Pfedelbach Castle, a Renaissance castle, stands in the center of the municipality of Pfedelbach in the Hohenlohe district. Originally conceived as a winter residence, it has characteristic corner towers.

History+

The origins of Pfedelbach Castle date back to the 16th century. Between 1568 and 1572, Count Eberhard von Waldenburg had the moated castle built as his winter residence on the foundations of an older ministerial castle. The master builder was Sebastian Mayer from Heilbronn. After Eberhard's death in 1570 during the construction phase, his wife Agathe completed the building and took up residence there. A castle chapel was established in 1732 by Count Ferdinand von Hohenlohe-Bartenstein and later served as a Catholic parish church from 1811 to 1888.
