Pichlern Castle is an estate located in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, specifically in the St. Peter district. Originally a rural manor, it was expanded into a castle-like structure and is now a protected monument.

History+

The first documented mention of the locality Pichlern dates back to 1287. In 1555, an estate in Pichlern changed hands when Abbot Bernhard of Viktring sold it to Klagenfurt citizen Thomas Püschel. Around 1740, Franz Ignaz von Fresach, a former mayor of Klagenfurt, had the older manor house transformed into a stately residence.
